Historian Nigel Spivey pays tribute to the soldiers of combined British-Canadian unit the 21st Army Group, who liberated Belsen concentration camp in northern Germany on April 15, 1945. Between 40,000 and 60,000 prisoners, most of them seriously ill, were found in the camp, while 35,000 corpses lay unburied in the grounds - and adding to the grim toll, more than 10,000 former inmates died after the Allies arrived
