Mary O'Hara

Documentary examining the life and career of soprano and harpist Mary O'Hara, who found fame on both sides of the Atlantic in the 1950s and 1960s. The singer performed at Carnegie Hall in New York and the Sydney Opera House, appeared on the Ed O'Sullivan Show and had her own BBC series before giving it all up. The programme explores, in the musician's own words, the story of her early days in Sligo to her current home on the Aran Islands, and how she returned from obscurity - only to then give it all up again for a second time

Mary O'Hara airs on TG4 at 9:30 PM, Sunday 17 November. (Repeat, subtitles.)
