Grace is summoned to a Soho brothel, where a woman is holding a man at knifepoint, claiming he knows the whereabouts of her 16-year-old sister, who has been missing for six months. Revisiting the familiar case, the detective feels guilty she did not do more to help the family earlier. When a body is found, she follows a lead to the missing girl's old teacher, who had acted as her support buddy when she turned to prostitution to pay for her heroin habit, and nearly loses control when she is overcome by anger in the interrogation room.
