In an earlier investigation, Jeremy Wade was propelled into an Indian river by a goonch catfish as big as himself, yet managed to land the rare beast after an epic battle. Ten years on, Jeremy hears a report from neighbouring Nepal of a mysterious attack that sounds strangely familiar - a lone fisherman on a mountain river dragged off his feet and into the water by an unseen creature. The extreme angler contemplates whether the original river monster could be back, and sets off to find out
