Gregg Wallace finds out how Jaffa Cakes are made on a visit to the Manchester factory where McVitie's churn out 1.4 billion of them every year. He follows the process from the delivery of a pre-blended wheat delivery - a pre-blended secret ingredient that gives the cake their light texture - to mixing, baking, jam piping and the addition of the chocolate topping. Away from the factory, historian Ruth Goodman finds out about the historic legal case which saw the company defending their right to call the product a cake and not a biscuit
