Journalist John Grogan celebrates his wedding by getting his wife a golden Labrador puppy, hoping to stave off her desire to have children. Over the course of their marriage, the canine remains a constant companion and never loses his mischievous streak even as he grows from a cute puppy to a 7st dog.
