Season 9 Episode 1 of 5

Gregor MacLeod travels the Scottish islands gathering delicious recipes and meeting brilliant bakers. He gets a taste of what they are stirring up in their kitchens, as well as getting creative in his own. In Skye, Calina MacDonald shares her collection of cookbooks. With help from Gregor, Calina makes her favourite recipe - a ginger and marmalade slice, using her own homemade marmalade. Starting his own collection, Gregor takes down a fantastic recipe for whisky and honey cake to try at home. He then travels to Point to meet Alasdair MacLeod, who shows him his recipe for pumpernickel, a dark rich bread full of flavour. Back at home, Gregor shares his recipe for Semlor - Swedish cardamon-spiced buns, - and he completely reinvents Scottish classic black pudding
