Ben visits John Wells, a former fashion photographer who gave up his six-figure salary and his mansion in upstate New York to move to an area of Texas that is the size of London with a population of just 250. John shows him the building made from scrap wood and iron that is his bedroom, as well as luxuries including a telephone and a freezer run from electricity generated by solar panels. Ben also goes to see some of John's 'neighbours' and discovers that many of the area's residents seem to be running away from something or someone - or even preparing for Armageddon
