The case leads him to the sleepy Oxfordshire village of Chigton Green, and is soon complicated by the fatal shooting of a local couple with an apparent connection to the first victim. Endeavour uncovers a vicious campaign of gossip and rumour, and meets a local woman who inspires him to consider his future
