Four dinner-party hosts compete to win the £1,000 cash prize on the north Norfolk coast. Publishing manager James Houlder begins with a main of freshly shot game, but Labour party activist Denise Burke does not know what to make of it, especially when he produces a gun. The rest of the week sees more attempts to impress by undertaker Helen Wickes and picture framer Dave Parks, but a running theme of hairs in the food haunts the contestants on each of their nights
