Newcastle have defeated two lower-league teams so far in this competition in Bromley and Birmingham City and will be looking to move a step closer to another cup final, having already reached the showpiece match in the Carabao Cup. However, they face a Brighton side who have not always been consistent this term, but can be a threat to anyone on their day, as demonstrated in their 1-0 win here in the Premier League in October.
