A 17th-century noblewoman tires of her humdrum life and decides to seek a little excitement - turning to highway robbery and murder to spice up her life, as well as getting romantically involved with a caddish crook. Absolutely fabulous classic British costume drama, with Margaret Lockwood on brilliant form as the vampish villainess, and support from James Mason, Patricia Roc and Griffith Jones
