The last eight chefs compete in the semi-finals. Their first challenge tests their ability to minimise food waste by choosing one ingredient and serving it in as many ways as they can. The judges will then pick the contestants worthy of going straight through to the next round, leaving the others to face an invention test using a mystery seafood ingredient
