Smudge wins Chief’s offer of being Chief for a day and proposes to deface the statue of Toad outside Toad Hall as a futile gesture to rile Toad! / Toad’s violin recital is interrupted by the leaks from his roof. When Toad tries to fix it, he discovers the leaks have given him a musical bonus.
