A San Francisco socialite takes a shine to a man she meets by chance, and follows him home to a Californian coastal community. Her arrival coincides with a series of mysterious attacks on people by birds, which soon escalates as vast flocks go on the warpath. Alfred Hitchcock's thriller, based on a Daphne du Maurier short story, starring Tippi Hedren, Rod Taylor, Suzanne Pleshette, Jessica Tandy and Veronica Cartwright
