Fin investigates a series of murders and realises all of the victims' families were clients of a local charity that assists people who have arrived from other countries. Joe Thagard comes under suspicion when it is discovered he has been sending abusive letters to immigrants, and the team subsequently raids his flat and finds a list of children's names with the three murder victims crossed out. Lawyer Randall Carver offers to defend Thagard for free, insisting he has been brainwashed by anti-immigration propaganda on Gordon Garrison's talk show Flashpoint
