The latest leg of Griff Rhys Jones' journey begins on The Gold Coast, 37 miles of glorious surf beach. In Brisbane, Queensland's capital city, Griff joins the 26-hour train journey the Spirit of the Outback. It covers more than 800 miles of railway, starting off by snaking up the coast to the city of Rockhampton, one of the oldest cities in the state and the beef capital of Australia
