Egyptologist Joann Fletcher looks at the lives of ordinary Egyptian citizens 3,500 years ago. In the first of two programmes, she explores the conditions of their tightly packed houses, how they dressed and what they ate. Joann also examines their love of poetry, their enthusiasm for interior design and what it was like to work in the Valley of the Kings, where the pharaohs were entombed
