Michael Portillo continues his journey through southern Scotland, with this leg beginning in the industrial town of Greenock, from where he sets sail in the world's last sea-going paddle steamer. He then sees the devastating effects of a fire at the Glasgow School of Art, heads to Blantyre to find out about the humble beginnings of a famous missionary and explorer and learns to make sourdough in a bakery in Strathaven before finishing his trip in Larkhall
