Julian Norton heads to a local farm to de-horn some young bullocks, and helps colleague Peter Wright when a dog needs emergency surgery to remove a bone wedged in its oesophagus. Peter also has to deal with a ferret who has a suspicious lump that could be cancerous, and meets Skeldale family the Greens, who are concerned about their rescue donkey
