The family is sent to Alcatraz when Bart accidentally moons the American flag and Marge unintentionally states on national TV that Springfield hates America. They escape and are picked up by a boat heading to France, where they try to build a new life, but it is not long before they are trying to sneak back into the USA as illegal immigrants
