A 1973 documentary revealing life on the remote Shetland island of Foula and the difficulties such a location posed to those living there on a daily basis. At the time of filming, work had just finished on the island's airstrip, which locals hoped would make their lives easier. In 1970, another film profiled the island of Eriskay in the Western Isles and focused on Duncan Campbell, his wife and their eight children who had recently returned from Glasgow to make a new home for themselves there
