In Conversation: Rebeca Andrade

From growing up in poverty to becoming Brazil's most decorated Olympian of all time, gymnast Rebeca Andrade has cemented her place as one of the country's most revered athletes. The 25-year-old made global headlines at the Paris Olympics, where she defeated Simone Biles with her floor routine. The image of Biles and her American teammate, Jordan Chiles, bowing to Rebeca at the top of the podium soon became one of the Games' most iconic moments. Andrade sat down with BBC 100 Women to discuss how she overcame three serious knee injuries and how she manages the mental health challenges of competing in a physically demanding and highly competitive sport.

100 Women airs on BBC News at 4:30 PM, Saturday 22 February.
