The remarkable story of Millie and Syd, two children from Hertfordshire who ran away from home in 1949. Their mother's roots were in the Scottish Hebrides - a place they'd visited, and loved. Determined to spend the summer holidays with theuir grandparents, the two sneaked off without permission. Now several decades on, Syd and Millie recall how they planned the daring trip, and absconded unaccompanied by train, ferry and bus all the way north-west to the Isle of Lewis.
