Hugh Dan MacLennan, one of Scotland's most recognisable voices in sports broadcasting, has seen his career take him to many a gantry, but it's not only the small balls he commentates on that has brought him fame and recognition. He completed a PHD in 1998 and the work he has done for shinty, out with broadcasting, has been highly received and regarded. Both he and his wife had health concerns in 2022 when they were diagnosed with cancer. This was among the reasons Hugh Dan decided to retire - yet they both have big plans for the future
