Nick Knowles meets midwife and kidney patient Sascha, who has to undergo intense dialysis sessions for hours on end, five days a week. This places the mother-of-four's body under great stress and the constant threat of blood clots gives her a life expectancy of just a few years. Determined to help, the DIY SOS team, bolstered by the local tradespeople and volunteers of Welwyn Garden City, renovate her home to include a dedicated dialysis room, offering her the chance of many more years with her family
