Tony and Carol investigate when the grisly remains of recent murder victims are unearthed during excavation work on the foundations of a hotel. When the building is subsequently burned to the ground, Tony suspects dark forces from the distant past are still very much active - and wonders whether the fact the hotel was built on the grounds of a ruined abbey could hold a clue to the mystery
