Rough Justice

Season 1 Episode 8 of 10

A 1981 documentary on life in the former mining village of Deri, South Wales, followed by an update on how the region has fared in the 25 years since filming. When cameras first descended on them a quarter of a century ago, local people were struggling with growing unemployment and the miners' strike was still a few years away. Now, however, the community seems to have taken on a new lease of life. First broadcast 1 October 1981

40 Minutes: Rough Justice airs on BBC Four HD at 12:40 AM, Monday 7 October. (Subtitles.)
