Grizzly Rewild
Grizzly Rewild
Documentary following a groundbreaking study to see whether five orphaned grizzly bear cubs reared at a wildlife shelter in British Columbia, Canada, can survive in the wild. To increase their chances, shelter owner Angelika Langen accelerated their growth by feeding them over their first winter and not letting them hibernate like they would have in the wild. Their interactions with humans were also kept to a minimum. After six months, they were fitted with GPs collars and transported into the wilderness. How would they cope?
Grizzly Rewild airs on RTE2 at 5:55 PM, Saturday 16 November. (Subtitles, new.)
