Tutankhamun's Egypt
Death and Burial
Season 1 Episode 5 of 13
Cyril Aldred explores the notion that the Egyptians were a death-centred people with a very materialistic view of the after-life. He takes a look at mummies, a well known relic of the Ancient Egyptian civilisation, as well as the elaborate tombs of the pharaohs. Cyril also explores the varying beliefs about the after-life across the society as a whole, revealing that the Egyptians may not have been as sure about the next world as their monuments would have people believe.
