A look at one of Britain's worst air disasters - the crash of British European Airways 548, which saw 118 people lose their lives. The plane plummeted shortly after taking off from Heathrow on June 18, 1972 and narrowly missed a main road before crashing into a field. Investigators were forced to rely on witness testimony to determine why the plane nosedived as there was no cockpit voice recorder on board, but both the investigation process and its results were deemed controversial
