Documentary about Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, using a blend of letters, music manuscripts, performances and dramatic vignettes to tell his story. His tale begins in Salzburg. Once a famous child prodigy, astounding audience all over Europe, the 21-year-old composer feels his glory days are over. After trying to make it in Mannheim and then Paris he finally breaks free from his oppressive father and makes his way to Vienna. With contributions from Stephen Fry, Sheila Hancock, Richard E Grant, Chris Addison and Adjoa Andoh
