This quarter-final involves an Invention Test in which the contenders are set the taxing task of creating a standout dish centred on colour. With an abundance of colourful vegetables, meat and fish to choose from, they have 10 minutes to select their ingredients and 60 minutes to prepare and serve a dish. Next up, they are afforded 75 minutes to showcase a stand-out two-course menu for leading restaurant critics Grace Dent, Jay Rayner and Tom Parker Bowles. Regular judges Marcus Wareing, Monica Galetti and Gregg Wallace monitor proceeding before determining who will progress to the semi-finals
