Spain topped their group ahead of Italy, Croatia and Albania with a 100 per cent record and then survived an early scare against Georgia to prevail 4-1 in their last-16 match. Germany topped their group ahead of Switzerland, Hungary and Scotland and then overcame Denmark 2-0 in a knockout fixture that was delayed by a thunderstorm. These two teams hold the record for the most titles in this competition, having won three apiece, and whoever takes the honours this evening will feel they have an excellent chance of adding to that total
