FIFA World Cup 2026
Uruguay v Spain
Uruguay v Spain (Kick-off 1.00am). Laura Woods presents coverage of the third and final match in Group H for both teams, held at Guadalajara Stadium in Mexico. These two came into the tournament as the favourites to progress to the knockout rounds, but even if both teams' progression is already guaranteed, they will be eager to make a statement against strong opposition and look to top the group. The nations last met in the group stage of the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup, when first-half goals by Pedro and Roberto Soldado gave the Spaniards a 2-1 win. That was a match between the reigning European and South American champions at the time, and coming into this encounter Spain are European champions once more after they won that title two years ago, while Uruguay were third in the most recent Copa America held in the United States in 2024.
