Mary decides to leave Emmerdale

During a flashback episode last month, it was revealed that Mary had shared a kiss with Suzy Merton shortly before she died in the limo crash.

Suzy’s partner Vanessa soon discovered this secret and threw a drink over Mary in the pub.

Suzy has tried her best to make things right with Vanessa, but to no avail. Along, with this, Mary’s own family are having trouble coping with April following her return to the village.

Speaking to her daughter Rhona, Mary said: “I think I might go away for a while. Visit your aunty Vivian down in Brighton. Vanessa needs space, and I think you lot do as well. Just look at everything that’s gone on here lately – you didn’t even have a clue.

“You’ve all been through so much, I think you need to figure out what it is to be a family again. What you don’t need is a live-in granny, making it all harder.”

Mary promised Rhona she wouldn’t be gone for long, but fans are concerned that they won’t see her again.
