Emmerdale is treating is to a stable schedule this week – for once as soap fans can tune in as normal, so what time is Emmerdale on tonight, Thursday April 3?

What time is Emmerdale on tonight?

On Thursday April 3, 2025, Emmerdale will air as usual at 7.30pm on ITV. It is the week’s hour-long special and Ella is back with a vengeance.

For those who don’t want to wait, the episode is already available on streaming service ITVX. It is released there every day at 7am.

What happens in Emmerdale on Thursday – Ella attacks

It was only a matter of time before Ella came back and tonight she returns desperate to make Liam believe her. To get his attention she takes Mandy hostage. Liam then tries to talk her down and pretends they could have a future together. But Ella soon sees through his trick and grabs the knife again.

Ella flees and Liam chases after her. But when he finally catches up to her, she lashes out and pushes him. He falls and hits his head, but as Ella sobs over his body, has she killed him?

Elsewhere, Pollard thinks Brenda is about to invite him on the cruise and get back together, but he’s mistaken. And, Cain and Caleb make a promise to each other as they finally put the past behind them.

More changes ahead to the Emmerdale schedule for 2026 ‘power hour’

It’ll be all change for ITV and Emmerdale in 2026 after the soap announced a new schedule. The soap ‘power hour’ will start from next January.

Emmerdale will continue to air five nights a week. New episodes will also drop on ITVX every morning at 7am as usual – meaning we don’t have to wait all day if we don’t want to!

However, the soap will move to a new time slot of 8pm. The Thursday double bill will also be cut to half an hour to make way for additional episodes of Coronation Street.

This ensures faster-paced, digestible episodes – a 30-minute format which has already proven popular with viewers.

Emmerdale usually airs weeknights on ITV at 7.30pm, with an early release on ITVX at 7am.

Classic Emmerdale usually airs every weekday on ITV3 at 6am and 6.30am, plus 1.40pm and 2.10pm.
