Emmerdale in 2006

2006 was a big year in Emmerdale and we have already made it to October. Huge storylines that have already aired this year include the tragic death of Alice Dingle. After being diagnosed with cancer while pregnant, Alice took the devastating decision to delay treatment until after having her baby. This proved fatal when Alice could no longer be saved. She ended up asking husband Sam to help her take her own life to end her suffering on her terms.

Meanwhile, 2006 saw the exit of Cain Dingle. After becoming embroiled in a kidnap plot that saw him take Sadie and Tom King hostage, Cain appeared to kill Sadie.

However it turned out she was in on it and they were doing it for money. Cain got the last laugh though when he double-crossed Sadie and took the money, leaving the village alone.
