Marlon has a stroke in Emmerdale

Back in 2022, Emmerdale’s storyline about Marlon Dingle suffering a stroke was praised for the realistic depiction and emotional impact.

The stroke occurred shortly after Rhona and Marlon became engaged. Marlon was rushed to hospital, where Rhona was told his speech and mobility had been severely impaired by the stroke.

Marlon had to learn to walk and talk again. Even seemingly simple things such as drinking a glass of water was a struggle for Marlon as the stroke had impacted his ability to swallow.

It was a long journey for Marlon, although he did eventually make progress. The soap also explored the impact of Marlon’s stroke on those close to him. He initially pushed Rhona away and said no to getting married as he felt she only still wanted to marry him out of pity.

But he soon changed his mind and set himself a target of being able to walk by the wedding – he met this target and successfully walked down the aisle.

Fans predict another stroke for Marlon

Over Christmas, Marlon’s daughter April Windsor run away from home after feeling ignored by her family. She spent a couple of months living on the streets before eventually being reunited with her family.

However, it’s not been plain sailing and April has struggled to readjust to being back home. While Marlon has struggled to trust his daughter not to run away again.

With the pair constantly at loggerheads, fans have predicted that another stroke could be heading Marlon’s way.

“The only way I can see this ending is by Marlon having another stroke and April understanding how ill he is. They are both great actors but their characters have been ruined,” wrote one fan on X.

Another fan said: “Rhona, April, Mary & every other twat in the village were telling Marlon for months he needs to keep calm or he’ll have another stroke now it’s hardly bloody mentioned. The way he’s been, he should’ve had 7…….9 maybe 80 with all the stress!”

A third fan added: “I can’t believe Marlon hasn’t had another stroke yet.”

Are they right, does Marlon need to relax more?
