Is Nicola King leaving Emmerdale for good? As she prepares to take Brenda’s world cruise prize, fans fear an exit may be looming.
Nicola first arrived in the village way back in 2001. So, after 24 years, is she actually going to say goodbye? And if she does head on the cruise? Will she be coming back?
The iconic character, played by Nicola Wheeler, has been at the centre of some huge storylines over the years. But after last night’s episode, many fear we may be losing a huge character.
Emmerdale Nicola wants to go on the cruise
There have been a string of exit announcements over the last few months. And in true soap fashion, there could well be more that we just have no idea about yet.
In last night’s episode of Emmerdale (March 27), Nicola found out that Brenda had won a three month all around the world cruise. But Brenda didn’t seem that ecstatic about it. And ultimately decided she wasn’t going to go on it.
There were many reasons for this. But the main one was that she didn’t want to break her promise of always being there for Eric. So, when Nicola heard that it was going to be turned down, she began to scheme.
Pretending to be Brenda, she made a phone call to the company informing them the two people travelling would be Nicola and Jimmy King. However, her plan was temporarily halted when she realised she also needed Brenda’s details to confirm her identity.
When she told Jimmy about it, he wasn’t as thrilled as she was. And after a conversation with Eric, Jimmy tried to persuade Nicola to let it be. But she seemed very determined.
Is Nicola leaving Emmerdale?
So could this be the end of the King’s? At this moment, no official announcement of Nicola’s exit has been reported. And there have also been no rumours. So, it’s looking likely that she will be sticking around a little while longer.
Obviously, it’s still a possibility. Just because it hasn’t been rumoured doesn’t mean it isn’t happening. Soaps sometimes love to throw a surprise exit on us!
However, it has been reported that Lesley Dunlop who plays Brenda, will be leaving the soap this year. So perhaps Brenda does get on the cruise after all.
Emmerdale usually airs weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV, with an early release at 7am on ITVX.
