And Joe said goodbye to Dawn after trying to get her to leave the village with him.
Read below for a full Emmerdale recap.

Dawn and Joe began their affair again
Despite playing hot and cold with her, Dawn still found herself showing up when Joe texted. He apologised for his behaviour and informed her that he is “scared” of what their relationship could turn into.
Dawn tried to tell him that she hates him. But Joe told her that they are both falling in love with each other – and Dawn immediately caved. Later, they spoke about how their relationship would work, and Joe floated the idea of leaving the village. But Dawn was adamant that couldn’t happen. He kissed her once again and when she left he said goodbye.

Joe’s plan failed so he created another
Joe received a text from Dr Crowley who informed him he was “ready and waiting”. Then we see a woman – named Gina – sitting in her car watching Caleb arrive at the Depot. And she gets a message from Joe telling her to let him know “when it’s done”.
Gina puts on a ruse that she is looking to partner up with the Depot. Kerry brings them tea and coffee. But Gina pretends not to like her drink so that Caleb would leave the room, giving her the opportunity to spike his drink.
When he comes back, they toast to their deal, and Caleb goes to take a drink of his tea. However, Gina later arrived to meet Joe and Crowley to inform them the plan didn’t work.
Caleb got spooked by a message Ruby sent about Steph being upset and accidentally spilt his tea all down his top.
Crowley informed Joe that the surgery needs to happen tomorrow, otherwise it will be weeks. And Joe doesn’t have that long to wait.
Joe immediately thinks of another plan. This one much more sinister. He meets up with the man who attacked Pete, and hands him a knife, with strict instructions to not mess it up. Bit of an extreme way to do things, Joe!

Steph struggled and bonded with Ruby
Ever since she found out the truth about Anthony, Steph has struggled to look at herself in the mirror. Because all she sees is him. Ruby spotted her looking at photos of Anthony and asks her to delete them.
But Steph opens up to her, admitting that she knows they look alike but she always thought she looked like Caleb too. Ruby emotionally tells Steph that while she can’t change her genetics, every time she looks at her daughter all she sees is Caleb – because they have the exact same attitude.
The pair then head to where Anthony is buried to allow Steph to get everything off her chest. Ruby speaks, telling her that he can’t ruin her life anymore. When she finished Steph admits she is “glad” Anthony is dead. She then pours her coffee onto his grave and tells him to “rot in hell”.
Ruby later tells Caleb what happened but believes that the afternoon helped. However, Steph is in the pub and once again goes to look at her camera – and all she sees is Anthony staring back at her. She then heartbreakingly googles where to get plastic surgery in Leeds.

Emmerdale recap: Ella left the village
After the week Ella has had, she realised she had to leave the village. But not before once again trying to prove her innocence.
When Chas spotted her packing her bags, she admitted she was “ecstatic” to see her leave. But Ella just told her that one day someone will see the truth and her world will come crashing down.
She then handed Manpreet her house keys and got in her car and left. But is this the last we have seen from her? Spoilers for next week suggest otherwise…

Elsewhere in last night’s Emmerdale recap
Cain had to drive Chas somewhere, so he left Sarah and Kammy in charge of the garage. And Sarah made him see that Kammy deserved more responsibility.
When he got back, he found they had actually seemingly done a good job. Has Kammy passed Cain’s trial? And will he be sticking around?
