Steph and Jai to begin seeing each other as he gets closer to the truth, Emmerdale fans fear
Romance on the cards?
In Emmerdale last night (Tuesday, March 25), Jai questioned Steph over what was upsetting her in a bid to get to the truth about Anthony.
He tried to gain Steph’s trust, hoping that it would be enough to prise some information out of her.
But, could this whole conversation actually spark a relationship for the pair?
Jai’s quest for answers in Emmerdale
Jai’s not impressed with Caleb and Steph slacking at the Depot and is determined to find out why.
He knows that they’re uncomfortable talking about Anthony and his disappearance, but they’ve both clearly got their guards up.
Last night though, Jai sat down with his ex Laurel (desperate times call for desperate measures) and asked her what she knew about Anthony. Laurel then invited him back to her place and told him what she knew. She did encourage him to drop it though, fair play Laurel!
Later on, back at the Depot, Jai saw Steph sitting alone. She was obviously very emotional, which signalled to Jai that now was the perfect time to ask her questions. Sure…
Attempting to befriend Steph, making out that he was acting from a place of concern, Jai started prying for information over Anthony.
Steph told him ‘he wouldn’t understand,’ before Caleb arrived and fed him a cover story.
Caleb told Jai that he’d set up the whole Depot break-in, hoping to claim on the insurance as the business’ finances were in a bad way. Anthony had found out so Caleb warned him off.
Steph loved her grandad and had just found out that this was why he upped and left… She’s not taking it well…
Of course, fans know that Anthony’s long gone but not for this reason… He’s buried under a large log in the woods instead.
Steph and Jai set for new romance in Emmerdale?
With Jai desperate for more answers, fans have now become worried that he’ll form a romance with Steph to get inside info…
Steph has only just broken up from Ross, but will she look to Jai as a rebound?
One fan commented: “Is Jai about to get off with ‘grandad’ Steph?”
Other fans feared that Steph would soon open up to Jai about what really happened, letting him in.
On X, one viewer feared: ” Jai do one. Seriously hope Steph doesn’t open up to him.”
Another person added: “Steph?!! Please DO NOT confide in Jai!!??? Omg.”
Emmerdale usually airs weeknights on ITV at 7.30pm, with an early release on ITVX at 7am.
