Emmerdale is back to normal now after last week’s changes, so will be airing Thursday, March 27. The schedule has been all over the place recently, so what time is Emmerdale on?
With football, rugby and other special shows, ITV tends to shift the soap schedule round to accomodate them. But we’ve got you covered with all the up-to-date schedule changes right here.

What time is Emmerdale on?
On Thursday March 26, 2025, Emmerdale will air as usual at 7.30pm on ITV. It is another hour-long episode, picking up from yesterday’s ending which saw Joe arrange for Caleb to be stabbed so he could steal his kidney.
Of course, the episode is already available on streaming service ITVX for those who want to watch it earlier. It is released there every day at 7am.

What happens in Emmerdale – Caleb flatlines after stabbing
Joe is on hand to save Caleb when he’s stabbed and whisks him to Crowley’s private clinic. Crowley is not sure he can save both Caleb and Joe and panics this is not what he signed up for. Things get really bad when Caleb flatlines on the operating table. Can Crowley save him and perform the transplant?
Meanwhile, Dawn is devastated when she realises Joe has abandoned her. Can Kim talk some sense into her?
Steph is still struggling and is hurt when Caleb doesn’t show for their planned family day out. But it gives Ruby the chance to honestly bond with her daughter for the first time.
Elsewhere in the Dales, Brenda finds out she’s won a competition, but decides to turn down the prize. So Nicola starts scheming. And, Marlon hides a letter to April from Dylan, but is he making the right choice?

More changes ahead to the Emmerdale schedule for 2026 ‘power hour’
It’ll be all change for ITV and Emmerdale in 2026 after the soap announced a new schedule. The soap ‘power hour’ will start from next January.
Emmerdale will continue to air five nights a week. New episodes will also drop on ITVX every morning at 7am as usual – meaning we don’t have to wait all day if we don’t want to!
However, the soap will move to a new time slot of 8pm. The Thursday double bill will also be cut to half an hour to make way for additional episodes of Coronation Street.
This ensures faster-paced, digestible episodes – a 30-minute format which has already proven popular with viewers.
