Paula Lane ‘unfollowed’ Emmerdale on her Instagram page just before reports of her exit circulated last year, but is she still leaving?

On her Spotlight page, it revealed that she’d be finishing filming for the soap in February 2025. But, now, she’s ‘re-following’ the soap on social media once more.

So, what does all this actually mean? Is she even leaving Emmerdale as Ella Forster anymore? Here’s all we know!

Paula Lane reportedly leaving Emmerdale as Ella Forster

In December last year, fans of Emmerdale were stunned to discover that Paula Lane looked to be finishing filming on the soap.

On the actress’ Spotlight page, linked in the Instagram bio, it revealed that she’d finish filming as Ella in February 2025.

Eagle-eyed fans also noticed that the star has appeared to ‘unfollow’ Emmerdale’s official Instagram account too.

Fans were unimpressed with the news, noting that Paula Lane’s talent hadn’t been showcased in the best way. This was due to the minimal scenes Ella had been in during her one year in the soap.

Going by the information of Paula’s Spotlight page, fans could expect Ella to leave their screens this Spring.

On screen at the moment, Ella is currently not taking the news of Liam and Chas’ engagement well. She’s soon set to suggest that Chas is addicted to painkillers. This is in response to being accused of causing her collapse in the Woolpack.

But, could this storyline all be leading up to the character’s exit from the Dales?

Is Paula Lane still leaving Emmerdale?

Fans keeping an eye on Paula’s following list on Instagram had noticed that Paula was no longer following the soap. However, in the last couple of days, they’ve spotted that the actress follows the soap’s official social media page once more. But, does this mean Ella’s sticking around in the Dales?

One fan commented: “Paula Lane has re-followed Emmerdale after unfollowing them over being axed. Have they changed their minds?”

Another person shared: “Paula Lane has re-followed Emmerdale on Instagram. I wonder if they have changed their minds over axing her character as I feel there is so much more potential.”

Just one day ago, Paula shared a photo of herself in the Emmerdale make-up room, teasing that ‘things are about to spiral’ for Ella on the soap…

And, interestingly, Paula’s Spotlight page has now been updated to remove ‘February 2025’ as her end date for Emmerdale filming.

Could this mean that her contract has been renewed? No official confirmation has been given as to Ella Forster’s fate on the show so viewers will have to wait and see to find out if Ella’s remaining put.

Emmerdale usually airs weeknights on ITV at 7.30pm, with an early release on ITVX at 7am.
