Manpreet’s blackmailer was unmasked

Manpreet Sharma shared with Ella that the blackmailer wanted £5,000. While Ella advised her not to give in as they’ll just keep asking for more, Manpreet decided to scrape the money together.

When at the drop off point, Manpreet came face-to-face with Joe Tate and accused him of being the blackmailer. Joe pleaded ignorance and explained that he was just out for a walk.

Later, Joe took Manpreet home, where she opened up to him about the threats she’d received and revealed that the blackmailer now wanted £10k. Joe offered to help her get the cash together.

Once outside, Joe took a phone call where it was revealed he really was the blackmailer and it had been his doctor who’d sent the text demanding £10k.

Joe gave Manpreet the money and they met the blackmailer together – a guy who’d been sent to the meeting spot by the doctor. Manpreet was incredibly grateful to her knight in shining armour. But it became very obvious that Joe was playing a long game here, and needed Manpreet for something.

Joe revealed his transplant plan in Emmerdale tonight

While Joe’s doctor wanted to take him abroad, Joe was insistent that he had a plan.

As the episode went on, it became clear that Joe was softening up Manpreet in order to ask for a favour.

After telling her he didn’t want any of the money back, she encouraged him to let her do something for him in return. Joe continued to act like he didn’t want to say anything – an Oscar for Joe.

He then ‘reluctantly’ told Manpreet that his grandad Frank Tate had a condition called AAT and claimed that he has it too. He said he is concerned that Frank’s other living relatives could also have it.

It was then that Joe’s plan became clear as he mentioned to Manpreet that he and his uncle Caleb didn’t see eye-to-eye and he didn’t know how to force him to get tested.

Joe acted like he just wanted his mind put at ease, and said one way to do it would be to get a blood sample from Caleb. Manpreet was a bit scared at first, saying obtaining blood by deception could lead to her being struck off.

Joe then said it was a stupid idea and that he shouldn’t have brought it up, but the seed was already sown. With Manpreet feeling incredibly grateful to Joe, will she do what he wants?

John asks Aaron to marry him in Emmerdale

There was an engagement at an engagement party

John told Aaron that he thinks Chas has been off with him, and was upset because he wants her to like him. John suggested they throw a surprise engagement party for Liam and Chas.

While Chas and Liam were grateful for the surprise, John and Aaron then took the attention when John proposed to Aaron.

Gabby summed it up when she said: “How dare they? You don’t usually throw an engagement party for someone and then end up stealing the thunder and proposing yourself.” She has a point.

Chas was also not particularly thrilled. She told Aaron that she doesn’t want him to make a mistake or marry John just because he thinks he owes him something. Will John win Chas round?

Kammy arrived in the Dales

Sarah came across newcomer Kammy, with the pair quickly upping their flirt game.

Sarah offered to take Kammy’s quad bike to the garage and fix it for him. But once there, she revealed that she knew he’d stolen it from her grandad’s farm and told him: “You have no idea who you’ve messed with.”

Sarah asked if he was left handed or right handed. She then told him: “If you’re lucky, my grandad might only break the one you don’t need.”

However, when Ross approached to ask about the quad bike, Sarah covered for Kammy and said that she found the quad at the side of the road.

Kammy and Sarah then agreed to work together on making money from the bikes Kammy steals, with Sarah insisting she wanted 50 percent.

After they successfully stole two more quad bikes, Sarah and Kammy were celebrating at her house. They were about to share a kiss when Charity arrived home.

Is this the start of a new Emmerdale romance?

Billy makes a confession to Dawn in Emmerdale

Elsewhere in Emmerdale on Tuesday

Dawn apologised to Billy for not being herself. He also apologised and admitted to messaging someone online.

Billy explained that he felt he and Dawn had just drifted. Dawn looked like she was about to confess to something too, but Billy interrupted her. He confessed he had been tempted to cheat, but couldn’t do it. Billy said he was so ashamed, while a guilty Dawn looked sheepish.

Elsewhere, things were awkward between Ella and Liam. This was made worse when she accidentally walked in on Chas and Liam’s engagement party.

Chas was not amused (again!) and told her she should have stayed away.
