Emmerdale spoilers for next week finally confirm exactly what is wrong with Joe Tate. But will he finally tell Dawn?
Meanwhile, Chas gets into an argument with Ella and later she collapses. John races to her rescue, but he’s looking decidedly suspicious to us.
Here’s everything you need to know about next week’s Emmerdale spoilers (March 17-21).
We find out what is wrong with Joe in Emmerdale spoilers
1. Joe’s health issue exposed
Joe is still keeping whatever is plaguing him health wise a secret. It means he’s avoiding Dawn and her amorous advances, especially to keep her away from his mysterious suitcase. We then finally find out what’s in it – and what it all means – when he opens it and reveals the contents. But everyone at Home Farm is still in the dark.
2. Joe’s plan is clear
Looking and feeling worse than ever, Joe greets Crowley at Home Farm. As the two talk it becomes clear what the plan is – but who is Joe targeting this time?
Billy makes a huge confession in Emmerdale spoilers
3. Manpreet and Billy grow closer
With Dawn sour over Joe’s rejection, Billy finds himself drawn to Manpreet. When she drops him home they share a moment and almost kiss. Things are then awkward between them, but will he tells Dawn?
4. Billy confesses
Billy feels guilty about everything and eventually blurts out to Dawn he’s been messaging another woman online. He’s somewhat surprised when she is forgiving and understanding. Of course he has no idea she’s been doing much worse. Will she be able to live with her own guilt now he’s come clean?
John wants to win Chas over in Emmerdale spoilers
5. John tries to woo Chas
Feeling insecure about Chas not accepting him, John confides in Aaron he is worried. He decides he has to find a way to get into Chas’ good books, so arranges a surprise engagement party. Chas is stunned and Aaron makes sure she knows it’s all down to John.
6. Aaron and John engaged
High in the moment, John decides to propose to Aaron. Delighted Aaron says yes and the pair celebrate. But Mandy is eavesdropping and soon announces the engagement to the whole pub. Chas is not impressed.
7. Chas makes her feelings clear
It’s not long before Chas is telling Aaron her reservations about John and their sudden engagement. But John overhears everything…
8. John rescues Chas
Still fretting about Chas not accepting their engagement, John is advised by Victoria to play the long game. She’s sure he’ll eventually win her round. When Chas later collapses in the pub and hits her head, John races to her rescue. But will this be enough to change her opinion of him?
Ella causes trouble in Emmerdale spoilers
9. Ella gatecrashes
With the engagement party in full swing, things get awkward when Ella walks in. She has unknowingly gatecrashed the celebration and isn’t happy about it. She later rants to John about Chas, who is still preoccupied with making his future mother-in-law like him.
10. Chas and Ella row
When a drink gets spilled it leads Chas and Ella to fall out. Very publicly. Their argument soon becomes the talk of the village.
Sarah smitten in Emmerdale spoilers
11. Ross accused
Mack suspects Ross is behind the spate of farm machinery thefts locally, especially when he starts driving a fancy new pick-up truck. When Mack doesn’t stop someone stealing a quad bike from Moira’s farm, Ross is accused.
12. Sarah covers for Kammy
On a country lane, Sarah finds Kammy who is struggling to start a quad bike. He feeds her a cover story, but savvy Sarah knows full-well it’s stolen. When Ross approaches, Kammy is shocked that Sarah covers for him.
13. Sarah finds a moment of joy
With everything getting her down lately, Sarah wants in on Kammy’s racket. Soon they are racing stolen quad bikes across a field and Sarah is happy. But Charity might not feel the same when she catches Kammy and Sarah getting closer…
Manpreet accepts Joe’s help in Emmerdale spoilers
14. Joe caught by Manpreet
Ready to pay off her blackmailer and end the whole sorry mess, Manpreet is hopeful her nightmare is almost over. She heads to the cricket pavillion to find her tormentor in person, but when Joe appears she’s shocked. She rages at him for being so cruel.
15. Joe offers his services
In fact, it’s just a case of wrong place, wrong time, Joe is entirely innocent (of this, at least!) He offers to pay off Manpreet’s blackmailer, but will she find out what’s really going on?

Fed-up of Caleb and Steph not pulling their weight at the depot Jai resolves to teach them a lesson. Sure Caleb is hiding something, Jai clocks his unease when Anthony is mentioned. Knowing he’s onto something, how deep will Jai dig?
Let’s talk about John Sugden in Emmerdale, shall we? I think we’re all agreed there’s something not quite right there. But what is it?
He’s lying about something, isn’t he? Holding back information? Not quite who he seems?
Let’s investigate…
John Sugden in Emmerdale and the Aidan Moore mystery
When John first arrived last year we soon saw some dog tags with the name Aidan Moore inscribed on them. He admitted to his half-sister Victoria Aidan was his friend in the army who died.
He later told Aaron that he and Aidan were more than friends. We know John was unable to save Aidan when he got injured, despite promising him he would. Unable to live with the guilt, he left the army and lived in his campervan.
But fans are not convinced. So what is the truth? Did he kill Aidan? Is he in Emmerdale for some sort of revenge? Is he really Aidan?
We don’t know, but we do know something isn’t adding up.
John Sugden has clearly dealt with a dead body before in Emmerdale
Yes, yes, I know John was an army medic in Afghanistan, so will have dealt with dead bodies before. BUT has he moved one and hidden it never to be found before?
After he found Anthony dead and believed Aaron had killed him, John performed a perfect clean-up operation (well, aside from a rogue tooth). He disposed of the body with practiced precision – he has definitely done this before.
What about Nate?
John was the last person to see Nate alive (as far as we know), this makes him the prime suspect to have killed him. Is John a serial killer?
Controlling Aaron in Emmerdale
Fans have been worried that John is a controller, much like Tom King before him. He is very keen on watching Aaron’s every movement and telling him what to do.
Aaron is struggling with his guilt over the Anthony situation, so is listening to John’s every word. Should we be worried about this? I’m starting to think so…
And now his obsession with Chas?
So that brings us to this week where he appears to be obsessed with Chas. Desperate for her approval he goes all-out to impress with an engagement party.
But then when he proposes to Aaron, Chas makes her feelings about John perfectly clear. John then worries to Victoria about how to get into Chas’ good books.
Next thing we know, John is racing to her rescue when she collapses and hits her head. Coincidence?
We’re clearly supposed to think it has something to do with Ella, whose obsession with Chas also grows next week (she’s a popular girl!)
But I think we need to keep an eye on John with this one. He’s definitely not all he seems…
