Tonight’s episode of Emmerdale saw Chas Dingle prepare to do the unthinkable in defence of son Aaron – break Dingle code by going to the police over Anthony’s disappearance.

As warring brothers Caleb and Cain continued to attract all the wrong kinds of attention (oh hi, PC Swirling), Chas began to panic. As the boys’ bickering escalated tonight (Tuesday, February 25), Chas put together a plan to to extricate Aaron from the situation.

Her grand idea? Having him confess to an altercation with Anthony.

Chas resorts to desperate measures as Cain and Caleb’s feud continues

According to Chas’s plan, any fallout from Anthony’s murder would all then fall back on Cain and Caleb. This would then leave them to answer the more difficult questions. This, she reasoned, would leave Aaron in the clear.

Sharing her plan with Aaron, it was clear he was a little more dubious, and had yet to play along as the episode ended. Will Aaron agree to break Dingle code to save his own skin?

Unlikely – especially as John may still be implicated in covering up the murder. But how will the others react when they learn what Chas is planning?

What happens next as Chas plans to confess

As the others learn that Chas is thinking of confessing to the police, the group worry that this will bring everything tumbling down – and that the full truth will come out. But can they dissuade Chas from this explosive course of action?

Elsewhere, Steph is determined to learn what her parents are keeping from her. Will she uncover the truth about Anthony’s disappearance… and his death?
