Why Amy definitely won’t die in the Emmerdale lake crash
Amy is the key to unlocking another huge storyline
The lake limo crash in Emmerdale has had us gripped this week with lives on the line – but we’re pretty certain Amy Barton is not one of those who will die.
Amy is very much at risk, and one thing we know is she is one of four people in an ambulance being taken to hospital. One of those four has been declared dead.
Although some fans are certain Amy has met her maker, we’re certain she hasn’t – let us explain why.

Emmerdale tonight saw one more death
On Tuesday February 18, the aftermath of the lake limo crash continued. With Chas, Liam, Vanessa and Tracy safely away from the vehicle, Amy had fallen under the ice. Tracy risked her own life to go back and pull her out from the water. With hypothermia setting in, Amy lost consciousness and when the ambulance crew arrived she was unresponsive.
Meanwhile, Liam had had a nasty bump to the head. He was lying in Chas’ arms, struggling to stay awake. She begged him to keep with her, but he slowly fell asleep.
In the limo, Leyla revealed to Kerry glass had impaled her side in the crash. She too was struggling to keep her eyes open. Kerry refused to leave her and despite having a broken foot herself, started to drag her across the ice. When Kerry almost fell in, Vanessa went to help and pulled Leyla to safety. But was it too late?
Also at risk was Noah, who Charity had found in the woodland, collapsed to the floor. He was taken in an ambulance, but we are pretty sure he survives and is revealed to have been spiked.
So with these lives on the line, when the paramedic in one ambulance announced “one patient dead on arrival” we all wondered who it was.

Why we’re sure Amy will not die in Emmerdale
Although some believe Amy has met a watery fate, we think there is one very good reason she will definitely survive: what she saw under the water.
As Amy sank down to the depths, she was terrified to see a dead body. We only saw the hand, but what that hand showed us was a distinctive bracelet – just like the ones little Frankie made and just like the one her daddy, Nate Robinson, was wearing when he abruptly left the Dales and hasn’t been seen or heard from since.
So we are pretty convinced Nate is under the water and Amy is the only one who knows about it. Therefore she HAS to survive so she can tell everyone. And then we’ve got a whole other storyline that looks into how he died.
It all ties in to the flashforward that saw Cain weeping at a grave – Nate is his son, so it all adds up.
And Amy is the key to moving this storyline forward, so there’s no way she’ll die. That just leaves Leyla and Liam…
