Frank Clayton is remembered in Emmerdale this week – here’s how Amy and Kerry were responsible for his death
Is Kerry about to confess?
Frank Clayton has already been remembered in Emmerdale this week when Amy Barton awkwardly brought up the death with his daughter Tracy Robinson. Amy and her mum, Kerry were responsible for Frank’s death, but it has gone unpunished.
Later on in the week, Kerry is set to warn Eric Pollard of the dangers of arson, after she realises he’s planning to torch the shop.
Kerry manages to coax Pollard into admitting he feels like he’s failed Brenda because he hasn’t repaid the money he owes. Worried about him, Kerry says Brenda will be happy to wait, if it means Pollard doesn’t push himself to the brink.
Later though she’s shocked to see him with matches and accelerants at the shop and realises he’s planning to torch the place for the insurance money.
Eric argues that arson is a victimless crime, but Kerry desperately tries to tell him he’s wrong, implying she absolutely knows what she’s talking about.
Which she absolutely does.

Remember Frank Clayton in Emmerdale?
Because remember how Kerry and daughter Amy burned down the factory, killing Tracy and Vanessa’s dad, Frank Clayton?
You do? We’re glad, because until now, Kerry and Amy seem to have forgotten all about their arson attack. And even more bewilderingly, so have Vanessa and Tracy.
Anyway. In case you need a reminder, here’s what happened when Frank died.

Amy was in trouble
Back in 2019, Amy had not been in the village long after spending years away working in Belfast.
And it turned out she was in debt to an old friend over in Northern Ireland. Amy had been fleeced by her ex boyfriend and in turn had stolen from her mate Karen to pay off her ex’s debts. When Karen showed up in the village, she threatened to go to the police unless Amy paid her back.
Kerry Wyatt planned the crime – but the arson was accidental
When Kerry found out Amy was in trouble, she hatched a plan to burgle the sweet factory and get the cash Amy needed.
She talked Amy into going along with it and together they stole charity money from the factory safe.
But it was their attempt at destroying the CCTV footage of their crime that really went wrong. They accidentally started a fire in the factory.
Frank Clayton in Emmerdale meets a fiery end
When Frank Clayton realised his daughter Tracy was inside, he raced into the flames to rescue her.
He managed to get her out safely but he went back in to get the engagement ring he’d bought for Megan Macey, emerging just as there was an explosion.
Frank was killed, and was blamed for the missing money, too. Hardly anyone in the village went to his funeral.

The truth about Kerry Wyatt and her arson revealed?
Vanessa and Tracy found out Kerry and Amy were to blame for their dad’s death. Obviously, they were furious! They went to the guilty pair and there was a confrontation.
Amy and Kerry tried to stop Tracy leaving to reveal all. But Tracy shoved Kerry and she fell and banged her head.
Bewilderingly, Amy and Kerry managed to persuade the grieving sisters that Kerry’s bump on her noggin was just as bad as Frank’s fiery death. They agreed that they’d not report Tracy on condition she and Ness stayed quiet, about Kerry Wyatt and her daughter’s arson attack.
Since then, Kerry, Tracy and Vanessa have all spent time away from the village. Their lives have moved on. The circumstances surrounding Frank’s death have never been revealed.

Amy and Kerry set to be punished for the death of Frank Clayton in Emmerdale?
It has always angered fans that Amy and Kerry got away with their crime. They now waltz about the village pretending they are goody two shoes who have never done anything wrong in their lives.
This week Amy found herself looking after Tracy’s daughter Frankie. And she even offered to babysit her any time Tracy wants. Understandably Tracy found the situation difficult, but Amy once again apologised for her role in Frank’s death. Acknowledging she knows what it’s like to feel desperate, Tracy has all-but forgiven Amy.
But with Kerry involved with Pollard’s arson plan, will her confession spark off a punishment at last? Will Amy and Kerry finally get the comeuppance they deserve for their crime? Or are the soap gods still waiting on that one?
