From surprise leaving bash to set souvenirs, inside Daisy Campbell’s last days at Emmerdale following axe
Will you miss Amelia?
For Emmerdale star Daisy Campbell, she shocked fans in October when she revealed she had been axed from the show, after 13 years.
Daisy has played long-standing Amelia Spencer since she was eight years old. Now, at the age of 21, she is leaving the show.
At the time of the announcement Daisy revealed it wasn’t her choice to leave. One day she found herself being called in to a confidential meeting, and was told Amelia’s time in the village would end just before Christmas.
She decided to not tell anyone the news for a while, as she processed it herself. But now that it’s out in the world, she’s looking to the future.
Having been such a huge part of the show for so long, it’s no shock that Daisy found herself being surprised by a party set up by her friends.
So here’s what she had to say about her last days on Emmerdale.

13 years is a long time to be anywhere, so over the years, Daisy had accumulated a lot of memories in the form of souvenirs.
Daisy admitted that she did actually take some away with her. She said: “On our jackets, we have our names on the back. So I took mine because no-one is going to be wearing my name.”
But she didn’t stop there, as she confessed her ‘love’ for Amelia’s clothing meant she ‘took all of Amelia’s jackets.’
For Daisy, she admits Emmerdale ‘is all she has ever known,’ so looking to the future is something that ‘excites’ her.
“I think it’s a perfect age to leave”, she explained. “I’ve got no responsibilities so I can do what I want. I’m really excited to see what comes my way and what opportunities arise.”
In terms of what she would like to do next, Daisy just wants ‘a challenge,’ admitting she wants to see what she will ‘be like on another set.’
When it came to a leaving party, her friends and co-stars Katie and Rosie (Sarah and Gabby) were the brains behind the event.

She explained: “They surprised me. I didn’t know where it was so anytime the cast would speak to me about it I was like ‘don’t tell me because I don’t know where it is.’
“It was the day after I finished and wrapped. It was a really lovely night.”
The night involved drinks, dancing and all round good fun. And for the Emmerdale star, she just enjoyed seeing everyone there.
Something which everyone would expect to be a hugely emotional time is filming the final scenes. But by the time it came to the end, Daisy was no longer crying that much.
The filming schedule could be partly the cause of that, as the 21-year-old explained.
“We film in two week blocks, so the first week was really emotional. Mark Jordan (Daz) comes back. It was lovely to see him again.
“On my last week I felt fine. I didn’t really cry that much. I was actually proud of myself.”
But one person who brought the tears out, was Laura Norton (Kerry). Daisy confessed that because Laura is ‘really good at doing emotions,’ she finds, “when she cries I cry.”
Amelia has been part of some huge storylines over the last 13 years. And most recently involved in the Tom and Belle storyline. So when her exit airs, it’s safe to say she will be missed.
